Our 30th Anniversary Family History Day was on Sunday 17th July 2016  at Ocklynge Junior School  Victoria Drive.  BN20 8XN (entrance in Farlaine Road), Old Town, Eastbourne.

Our Guest Speakers were:

Nick Barratt, “Who Do You Think You Are?
Nick looked at the way genealogy has changed over the last 10 years due largely to the internet and shows like WDYTYA? with an insight into how it is made and researched.

Celia Heritage, “Surnames – An Introduction”
Celia give us a talk about the origins and evolution of surnames and how their use may lead to brick walls in family history research.

A full catering service was available all day, offering tea, coffee, soft drinks, sandwiches, cakes etc.


We held our biennial family history day on Sunday 21st July 10.00am – 4.30pm at Ocklynge School, Eastbourne,

There was a comprehensive menu running all day including,  tea, coffee, soft drinks, sandwiches, snacks, biscuits etc.
