At tomorrows meeting (Thursday 1 August), Donna Rutherford will give a talk: ‘DNA – what is it; how does it work and how can it help research?” Donna’s talk will be aimed at people who want to know more about DNA testing and how to interpret the results. It will cover methodologies, tips and tricks to identifying matches and confirming how they fit into your family tree. Included will be help with understanding how DNA is measured and how that can be used to predict relationships. The talk will also include some real-life examples of confirming matches. Whether you are looking to confirm your tree, break down your genealogical brick walls, find biological family or simply find out more about DNA testing, this talk will help.
The meeting is at Ocklynge School, Victoria Drive, Eastbourne BN20 8XN (entrance in Farlaine Rd, side door past main reception). Doors open at 7pm with the meeting starting at 7.30pm. All welcome, members £1, visitors £2.50 including tea/coffee and biscuits.
