passed away early on Monday the 24th June.

She will be much missed by our society.

Our thoughts are with her family at this sad time.

Thursday 6th June we are delighted to welcome back historian Melanie Gibson Barton with a talk entitled: “Eva Braun – Victim or Contriver?”

We can now confirm the October meeting will be a talk on The history of Wannock Tea Gardens by Jenny Wootton.

From its beginnings as an orchard and fruit garden in Victorian times famed for its strawberries to one of the most popular tourist attractions for visitors to Eastbourne in the 1950s and 60s.”

Due to ill health John Spillman will not be talking on Thursday evening, there is therefore a change with Helen Warren’s talk about the Star Brewery extended to about one hour. Please come along and share any memories, photos or mementos of the Star Brewery in Old Town, Eastbourne.
