| 1st May | Kevin’s talk revolves around the people buried and commemorated at the Parish Church of St Mary’s. These vary from the rich and (in their time) famous, military men and ordinary working people. Every memorial has a person with a story behind it. | Kevin Gordon |

| 3rd July | A guided tour of the Roman fort at Pevensey and St Mary’s church, Westham, by Colin Torode, from English Heritage, There is a fee of £5 per person, but English Heritage members go free. You will be able to sign up for the tour at the May and June meetings and payment will be required in advance. Maximum number in the group is 25. Make sure to sign up. | |

| 4th September | 'Eastbourne at Leisure' This illustrated talk looks back at the leisure facilities that have been on offer to visitors and residents of Eastbourne from the 1950s right through to the 1990s. | Phil Gardner. |
| 2nd October | A history of sport in Sussex. from the amazing to the bizarre. 'Mathew's talk takes a light-hearted look at the history of sporting events in Sussex. Sport has been a key feature of Sussex life throughout the centuries, with cricket, football and horse racing being commonplace events, as well as the much-loved Sussex game of stoolball. However, local village sports days were also host to many lesser-known sporting activities. These included jingling matches, menagerie races and piano bashing.' | Mathew Homewood. |
| 6th November | Conscientious Objectors in WW1. By 1916, the number of men enlisting to fight in the First World War had fallen. More men were needed so, for the first time, military conscription was introduced. In this illustrated talk Jenny will be looking at the background to conscription, attitudes towards conscientious objectors, and the experiences of some of the conscientious objectors in East Sussex during the war. | Dr. Jenny Flood |
